Help Stay Safe with Beds Fire Alert

Bedfordshire Fire and Rescue Service use it to send safety messages, warnings about the common causes of fires, incidents in your area and reminders to test your smoke alarms. It’s also used to tell you about Community Safety activities in your area like fire station events, community action days, safety roadshows and safety courses.

It keeps you up to date with local and national safety campaigns such as home fire safety, road safety, water safety, kitchen safety and much more as well as inviting you to take part in consultations such as the Fire Service’s recent budget consultation. In 2016 BFRS will be undertaking a major consultation about risks to and in our communities and want as many people as possible to take part.

It lets you decide how to receive information - via email, text to mobile, or voice message to your landline, and when you want to receive it, so it arrives at times that suit you. The alerts will keep you in touch with fires, crimes and other incidents in your area and offers safety and crime prevention tips while your local Neighbourhood Watch can send information regarding crime trends, problems, or to let you know about meetings.

Bedfordshire Police also use Beds Alert to give crime prevention advice and alerts about crimes in your area as part of a network of Neighbourhood Alert and Neighbourhood Watch sites from across Bedfordshire and surrounding counties, helping you keep safe from crime in your area.

If you run a business then you can join Business Watch which sends you messages relating to risks to businesses and allows companies to send messages through the system to other members about particular local problems they are experiencing.

You control exactly which organisations can see your information and communicate with you and you can reply to messages and rate the service provided. The scheme meets police-approved standards for security.
