Retained Firefighter Recruitment 

 

We currently have Retained firefighters from a wide range of backgrounds and employment situations, from self-employed people to women who are able to devote daytime to cover while the children are at school.

Retained crews are called in to attend the same range of incidents as their wholetime counterparts at any time of the day or night.  In return they are paid a retaining fee along with an additional payment for every incident attended.  They are also required to attend a training night for two hours every week for which payment is also made.

To be a Retained firefighter you need to have good verbal communications skills, enjoy team working, be physically fit, and be able to get to the fire station within five minutes of being called.  For further information and to find out how to apply please use the links below:
