Hundreds Join Community Safety Event for Mid Beds
999 services join forces for display day.
An action-packed series of activities were staged to bring community safety messages home to people in Mid Beds this autumn.
The event was staged at Shefford Fire Station and included exhibitions and displays by police and firefighters as well as whole range of other agencies. Hundreds attended the event and it was covered by Anglia TV.
Displays and activities included a:
Kitchen fire demonstration by Bedfordshire and Luton Fire and Rescue Service (BLFRS)
BLFRS Community Safety Unit which contains a mini cinema for safety films and interactive games.
Bedfordshire Police mobile station, plus Bobby Van. The mobile station gives residents the opportunity to pick up free crime prevention leaflets, find out about Home Watch and meet local officers to discuss any concerns. The Bobby Van is an initiative by a charitable trust, the Bedfordshire Police Partnership Trust, and provides the old and vulnerable with free security equipment such as door chains and spy holes.
