Fire Service in SoLUTiONs Partnership
Bedfordshire and Luton Fire and Rescue Service (BLFRS) is part of a multi-agency partnership set up to reduce crime and disorder in Luton.
SoLUTiONs is a brand new approach that aims to reduce crime and anti-social behaviour, reclaim communities, reduce fear, improve confidence, create new networks and partnerships and restore a sense of community ownership and pride in Luton.
Local people will be encouraged to play their part so that real improvements can be made to their lives. A door to door survey will be carried out to discover the views of local residents to problems where they live. Solutions will then be created to directly meet the needs of residents.
The area will be left with a network of support from service providers and voluntary agencies, so that local people can continue to raise problems. SoLUTiONs is committed to tackling all issues raised and in creating a better environment for all.
Three key areas of SoLUTiONs and agencies involved are:
Support Services (help and diversion)
Bedfordshire and Luton Fire and Rescue Service, Environment Agency, Job Centre, Probation, Youth Services, PCT tackling drug and alcohol abuse.
Enforcement (making safer communities)
Local authorities, Police, Community Wardens, Trading Standards, TV Licensing, Crime Stoppers.
Local people
Neighbourhood Watch, Tennant Associations, Crime Concern, Victim Support, CPS, local companies, schools, media and the voluntary sector.
