Fire Leads on Community Safety Partnership

The organisation brings together council, police and other services to work together to prevent and combat anti-social behaviour in the Borough.

In his role as Chair, Tony joined a special public meeting called by Bedford MP Patrick Hall at Putnoe Heights Church and Community Centre on 29th March.

Residents from the area were concerned about a range of issues ranging from vandalism to dangerous driving. The matters will be tackled via the Community Safety Forums, which are held regularly, in the area and there reports will be made back to residents.

The message for anyone in ANY area is to report anti social behaviour by dialling 999 if an emergency, or Bedford 841212 to make sure  your complaint is logged - only then can police and other services be made aware of issues affecting a neighbourhood. The more reports are logged the better.

Bedfordshire and Luton Fire and Rescue Service is involved in Community Safety Partnerships across Bedfordshire and Luton,” said Tony Rogers.

Anti social behaviour can include fire setting which is obviously a matter for Bedfordshire and Luton Fire and Rescue Service, but more than that we want to be able to work with our colleagues in the police and councils to prevent these activities in the first place. This may be through education or other interventions.”
