People can talk to professionals from the Fire and Rescue Service others about keeping their children safe at home and on the road.
Many of accidents can be prevented by taking just a moment, to move a hot drink, check a smoke alarm, lock the medicine cabinet, switch-off the dryer or take your foot off the accelerator.
Cllr David Sawyer, Portfolio Holder for Children’s Services for Bedford Borough Council said: “Without wishing to alarm parents we think these events are invaluable in helping to reduce the number of childhood accidents. It’s often the small things that need to be altered in order to prevent bigger issues and problems. It will provide the perfect opportunity to come and have a chat with professionals about keeping their children safe and thinking about points that they may not have considered.”
