Seeking On-Call Firefighters: Saturday 26 August 2017

We want to talk to people about the availability they might be able to provide in their local area and in return we can offer fantastic training and development opportunities, provide an exciting and varied job and earn an attractive rate of pay.  You will get to build new relationships as part of an effective team and be giving something back to your community, whilst taking ownership of the way that you work to help manage other commitments such as child care.    

“We are looking at improving diversity within our Service and particularly to attract more women as Firefighters; we currently have 24 female firefighters serving across the county and we want to share their positive experiences with the community to show that this is a job for everyone.  Come and speak to one of our female crew members who can answer any questions you may have.

At this time Bedfordshire Fire and Rescue Service is seeking On-Call Firefighters, although will shortly be running a full-time recruitment campaign where we will similarly be looking to attract more female and BAME Firefighters.  The crew are more than happy to speak to people about this opportunity also.

To be a whole-time Firefighter you should live in Bedfordshire or within 10 miles of its border, be physically fit, 18 or over, have four GCSEs (A-C) or equivalent, be able to swim and have a full driving licence (with no pending issues).
