Standards of Response

The Service is currently conducting a review of its risk areas and developing standards of response that will meet those risks.  Until that work is completed and new standards are agreed with all stakeholders, we are continuing to use the pre-existing standards of Fire Cover as the standard of response for Bedfordshire and Luton Fire and Rescue Service.  The two main components of the standard which are for fires only, are:

  1. Response Times - For the period 1st April 2006 to 31st March 2007 the success rate for the attendance of 1 pump in 5 minutes and a 2nd pump in 8 minutes was 98.65%.

  2. Number of Riders - For the period 1st April 2006 to 31st March 2007 the success rate for number of riders (5 on 1st pump, 4 on 2nd pump) was 77.97%.
