BEDFORDSHIRE AND LUTON COMBINED FIRE AUTHORITY
Our Service covers the area served by the two separate local authorities of
Bedfordshire County Council and Luton Borough Council. A Combined Fire
Authority (CFA) of elected Members from these two constituent authorities
oversees the Service. Their numbers are proportional to the populations
they represent, with four Members from Luton Borough Council and eight Members
from Bedfordshire County Council.
The Combined Fire Authority meets five times a
year at County Hall, Bedford,
with each third meeting held at Luton Town Hall.
The Combined Fire Authority has no committees (except the
Standards
Committee). To ensure Member scrutiny and input into the Authority's
strategic plans, the Combined Fire Authority has established three Scrutiny
Groups:
Human Resources
Integrated Risk Management
Performance Achievement
East of England Regional
Management Board -
Bedfordshire and Luton Combined Fire Authority is also a member
of the East of England Regional Management Board, working in collaboration with
Cambridgeshire, Essex, Hertfordshire, Norfolk and Suffolk Fire Authorities.
